Message from Lasso Safe's Executive Director during the Covid19 Pandemic

April 1, 2020

The sport industry will be feeling the impact of the Covid19 pandemic for years to come - on the sport economy, on the community and how we train and compete. Yet through it all, we have found ways to come together, to reinforce our competitive bonds and to strengthen the connection that makes us athletes, sport center owners, trainers and coaches. While centers across the globe work to flatten the curve and return to some sense of normalcy, we must face a new reality: The sport we return to may look nothing like the one we left behind.

Sport brings together people from all socio-economic and racial backgrounds for one united purpose - to experience excellence together. As we re-emerge and come together, let's keep in mind that, although it may not look the same, our spirits have never been more resilient and excellence together has never been more desired.

Sport centers will host the long-awaited reunion of the deeply-driven community with their beloved sports. They will conduct constricted frustrations and overflows of joy as peoples passions and careers are at the start line again. They will be expected to be the avenue of athletic reunion, but many will be reopening to unprecedented psychological, economical and physical burdens - simultaneously navigating their own challenges too.

Lasso Safe is here to prepare centers for a new, safe start. Now is the time to develop policies and procedures to secure a safe reunion and economic recovery strategies. Well-prepared centers will not only recover from Covid, but lead the triumph that only a community of champions can achieve.
