Better centers. Better sports.
We believe Lasso Safe certified centers are the foundation of something bigger: helping athletes, and the communities and cities the centers reside in— healthily, respectfully and financially thrive. The heart of our better sport centers' efforts must go well beyond policy, procedures and benefits. We must dig deeper and focus on what matters most within these centers: young athletes.

Every athlete should have safe and healthy places to train, compete, grow and learn. Leading long and healthy lives in sport and beyond is not a privilege—it’s a right for everyone. Shouldn’t the places where we are most influenced support our health and well being? Improved health and performance benefits are playing a larger role than ever before in driving companies to invest in the Lasso Safe certification.
What is Lasso Safe Certified?
Lasso Safe is an independent verification program and the globally recognized standard for the research, education and certification of high-performance youth, amateur and Olympic sport centers.
Addressing all sport center types through different rating systems and adaptations, Lasso Safe gives sport center leaders and managers the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable effect on their centers’ performance. By promoting a whole-center approach, Lasso Safe recognizes performance in location and planning, safe site design and development, media coordination, communications, marketing, branding, security system setup, education, out-of-town league/guest protocols, event security, parent/caregiver involvement, community partnerships, innovative strategies, attention to priority regional issues and more.
Gain a competitive edge
The sport industry knows that athletes perform their best (and remain loyal to the brand) when they feel psychologically, physically and emotionally supported. Lasso Safe certified centers gain a competitive edge by hosting athletes who feel empowered to perform at their best.
How are the rating systems structured?
The Lasso Safe rating systems are made up of prerequisites and credits. Prerequisites are required elements or better center strategies that must be included in any Lasso Safe-certified center. Credits are optional elements that centers can pursue to gain points toward Lasso Safe certification.
Although the organization of prerequisites and credits varies slightly depending on the sport division and associated rating system, Lasso Safe is generally organized by the following broad concepts:
Communication
Marketing
Community partnership
Athlete safety policy
Staff member policy
Record
Risk reduction
Security strategies
Parent/caregiver policy
Travel policy
Event policy
Reduce Risk
Lasso Safe is a proven system to reduce your risk, your customers' and maximize profit. Easy-to-implement, Lasso Safe is a friendly and targeted brand that works to publicize your investment in a better athlete culture.
How does a center achieve certification?
Achieving Lasso Safe certification requires satisfying all prerequisites and earning a minimum number of credits. Reference guides, designed to help center leaders and management, explain credit criteria, describe the benefits of complying with the credit and suggest approaches to achieving credit compliance. The levels of certification generally follow these thresholds:
Certified: 100-132 points
Bronze: 133-165 points
Silver: 166-199 points
Gold: 200+ points
